What is the OWASP Cyber Defense Matrix?

The Cyber Defense Matrix by OWASP is a map that helps with self-assessments concerning the security of organisations. This matrix was developed by The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) and centres on the need to associate security functions with the key phases of the attack lifecycle, which runs from the incursion phase to full exfiltration of the target. The defensive measures are identified with three parameters: each stage of an attack, the security measures deployed and the level of risk that exists for the organisation, thus enabling companies to know the areas where they require extra security.
