Mexican shoe sizes for men are labeled according to foot length in centimeters (cm). Shoes for men on the Mexican Shoe Size Equivalent chart usually start with a size 19, indicating a foot measuring 19 cm in length. This is equivalent to a US size 0.5 for men, which fits a foot 7 ⅔ inches in length. Mexican shoe sizes for men, in general, span from size 19, 19.5, 20, 20.5, etc. up to a size 34, which is equal to a US size 15.5, for a foot measuring 12 ⅔ inches. As we climb incrementally up the scale, each size adds 0.167 or ⅙ inches to the previous size.
Mexican shoe sizes for women are also labeled according to the foot length in centimeters. A woman’s shoe size 18, for example, indicates a lady’s foot 18 cm or 7 ⅓ inches in length. Women’s shoe sizes in Mexico start at 18, corresponding to a US women’s size 1, followed by an 18.5 or US size 1.5, then 19 or US size 2, and so on, again usually topping out around size 34 on the Mexican scale, which is a US size 17, measuring 12 ⅔ inches. In the case of women’s Mexican shoe sizes, the average difference between each size is 0.33 or ⅓ of an inch.
Once again, as with men’s and women’s shoe sizes in Mexico, kids’ shoe sizes also follow foot length in centimeters. Similarly, Mexican kids’ shoe sizes diverge from the usual shoe sizing standards used in the US, UK, or Europe, and for the same reason: Mexican children are relatively smaller than kids in other Western countries. Mexican kids’ shoe sizes start with a size 9, which is a US size 1, measuring 3 ⅝ inches. Sizes continue through 10, 11, 12, and so on up to size 24, which in the US is a size 6Y or 9 ¾ inches. Each size in kids’ Mexican shoes has a ⅜” or 0.375-inch differential between sizes.
