Diablo 4's upcoming Season 4 looks to be one of the game's best, thanks to multiple new and reworked systems. Players also have the chance to try it early, thanks to the upcoming Public Test Realm (PTR) from April 2 to April 9, 2024, after which players will no longer be able to participate. If you are interested in getting onto the PTR and checking out the new content, here is how you can do it.
To join the PTR, you need to follow these simple steps:
Open the Battle.net App on your PC and select Diablo 4 in your Games list.
Above the play button, click the selector, and there will be a game version selector.
Select the option labeled "Public Test Realm."
Click on Install to begin downloading the PTR version of the game. Once this is complete, the option will change to play.
Click Play to enter Diablo 4's PTR, select a server, and create your character to get started.
Once these steps are completed, players can dive into the PTR and get testing. Players can use the "Report a Bug" option in the in-game menu or visit the Diablo 4 forums to provide feedback.
During the PTR, players will get the chance to experience all the reworked systems and features coming in Season 4, namely loot and crafting, both of which will see major overhauls. This includes the new Tempering feature, allowing players to add their own affixes to d4 items, Masterworking to upgrade affixes, changes to the Codex of Power, Helltide reworks and additions, and a heap of QoL changes.
Aside from this, the PTR will have no other restrictions. In fact, players won't even need to play through from level 1 if they choose not to, as there will be an NPC in Kyovashad named PTR boost. This NPC can set your character's level to 100 and give you the following items and unlocks.
100 million gold.
1,000 Obols.
Two random sets of Ancestral gear at item power 920.
Fully Upgraded Potions.
Fully unlocked Paragon Glyphs.
Up to 10 Tempering Manuals for your class.
The base amount of all consumable materials for upgrading. (Doesn't include Masterworking, Scattered Prisms, and Resplendent Sparks materials.
Materials to enter the Pit and Nightmare Dungeons.
Fully unlocked class mechanics, such as Book of the Dead for Necromancers, etc.
Fog of War will be cleared entirely.
You will also be able to trade between characters, and regardless of the boos, all legendary drop rates will be doubled during the PTR.
