The addition of boat tours through Kapp'n in Animal Crossing: New Horizons provides players with new ways to explore areas outside of their own islands, but the game's most recent 2.0 update is devoid of any new content. When dealing with the same issues that plague Dodo Airlines' mystery tours, players can quickly exhaust all of the available travel destinations, making the daily journey across the sea a chore. Some people may be disappointed by this, particularly those who had hoped to spend more time traveling and experiencing new adventures outside of their home islands, but this is unlikely to be the case.
The New Horizons 2.0 update brought with it a slew of new activities that players could take part in on a regular basis as part of their overall experience. Farming, cooking, and raising Gyroids are among the activities available, as is a visit to The Roost, Brewster's newest museum addition, among others. On the other hand, in order to obtain gyroids and crops you will need to speak with Kapp'n and sign up for an island excursion, which is available once a day and costs 1,000 Nook Miles. Island variations include standard islands with only a few new items, farmland islands with one variety of new cropper location, and seasonal Animal Crossing islands that produce maple leaves and cherry blossom petals during the winter months. Another set of features on the island includes star fragments as well as vine and money islands, with the latter two being responsible for the production of new glowing moss, which is required for special DIY crafting projects.
While many New Horizons fans are relieved that the show's major updates have come to an end, many others are disappointed by the news. However, there is a possibility that the show's future will be filled with exciting new developments. Despite the fact that no official announcement has been made by Nintendo, it is possible that a new Animal Crossing game will be released for the Nintendo Switch in the coming year. For those who have completed everything that is possible in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this could be welcome news, and it could also help to improve areas of the game that require more variety.
